Don opened Downtown Dallas Pilates in 2008 to provide authentic, contemporary Pilates and Mind Body Fitness in the downtown Dallas, Texas community. Don teaches on all the Pilates apparatus: Mat, Props, Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs and Barrels.

Don has over 20 years of experience in teaching Mind Body Connection. Starting in 1986 under the direction of Marj Baucum [a former dancer of Ballet Russe]. This is where Don had his introduction with Pilates.

Upon moving to Dallas in the early 1990’s, Don continued with his passion for ballet and other forms of disciplined dance by performing with the Dallas Metropolitan Ballet, Dallas Black Dance Theater, and Krassovska School of Dance [Nathalie Krassovska, former Ballet Russe Principal Dancer]. He also taught Ball Room Dance and competed for the Mid-Cities Dance Center.

While continuing his practice of Classical and Contemporary forms of Pilates in the later 90’s, Don began his study of Yoga. His study of Yoga included the Hatha, Iyengar, Bikram, and Ashtanga disciplines.

Don’s other areas of interest in fitness include Martial Arts, Spin, Boot Camp Training, and Weight Training. Don has extensive training and certifications from AFFA, IDEA, Mad Dogg, and Polestar.

Don continues his education with Core Dymamics under the direction of Michelle Larson. [The Pilates lineage of Eve Gentry] Eve Gentry’s approach and philosophy.

“There is no bad movement only movement badly done” ~ Eve Gentry

Don also volunteered with Immunocise as well as the Special Olympics. He was the coordinator of Immunocise from 2000-04. [Immunocise was a Health and Wellness program developed in the mid 1980’s to help persons with HIV, AIDS and Cancer.]

Don’s personal philosophy related to fitness is to aid students in a personalized balance of strength, stamina and flexibility. He is dedicated to design a program specifically for each student, independent of the season of their life, and to harness inner power within his students as his teachers have done for him.
